Infrared Irradiation for Aerospace Applications
High-performance infrared system for simulating extreme thermal loads in space
For this project, BF Engineering developed a high-performance infrared irradiation system to simulate the extreme thermal loads experienced by spacecraft and satellites in orbit. The system enables reproducible qualification and stress testing under realistic conditions and supports the development and validation of highly stressed aerospace components.
The system was developed for the Russian space industry and is used for thermal testing of satellites, spacecraft components, and thermal protection systems. Thanks to precise control of the irradiation power, various solar exposure scenarios and extreme temperature cycles can be reliably reproduced.
With a total power output of 75 kW and an installed infrared power of 1,200 W per emitter, a powerful and durable testing system was created that meets the highest requirements for precision, reliability, and reproducibility. The project demonstrates BF Engineering’s expertise in developing customized high-performance irradiation systems for the most demanding aerospace applications.
