Engineering the Sun
BF Engineering GmbH develops, designs and manufactures high-precision irradiation and testing systems for demanding industrial and scientific applications. Our solutions are used wherever natural solar radiation, thermal loads or defined radiation spectra need to be generated precisely and reproducibly.
From the initial idea through development, design, electrical engineering and software to manufacturing, assembly and worldwide commissioning, our systems are created from a single source – 100% Made in Germany.
Engineering and Production in Geretsried
Our headquarters at Sudetenstraße 92–94 in Geretsried is the technical center of BF Engineering. Around 5,000 m² of production and development space bring together a wide range of specialist departments.
Our own CAD designers, electrical engineers, software technicians and development engineers enable us to develop complex projects entirely in-house. They are complemented by our own control cabinet production, prototype construction and in-house laboratory, where new technologies are developed, assembled, measured and validated.
This high level of in-house expertise and the short distances between development and production are a major advantage – particularly for complex, customized systems.
From Series Production to Customized Solar Simulation
Our production combines standardized series manufacturing with customized system engineering.
At our site, we manufacture IR heating lamps in series while simultaneously developing customized solar simulation and irradiation systems in a wide range of sizes – from compact laboratory solutions to large-scale systems for complete vehicles and industrial test facilities.
Our dedicated development department continuously works on new light sources, system concepts and technologies. In our prototype workshop, new solutions can be built, tested and further developed directly until they are ready for series production or project implementation.
Service Throughout the Entire Life Cycle
For us, engineering does not end with delivery.
Experienced electronics specialists and service technicians handle the maintenance, repair and modernization of existing systems. Even older systems are analyzed, repaired and technologically upgraded at our site.
This allows us to support our systems throughout their entire life cycle – from initial development through many years of operation to the modernization of existing technology.
A Green Technology Site
We are also continuously developing our own site. A photovoltaic system with an output of around 80 kW installed on the building roofs generates part of the energy required for development and production directly on site.
Energy efficiency also plays an important role in building technology, production processes and mobility. Our vehicle fleet is already largely electrified and is powered in part by solar energy generated on site.

As part of the BF Tech Group, BF Engineering can also draw on specialized expertise in engineering, research and technology development from within the group.
