Kipp & Zonen SMP10x – Digital Smart Pyranometer with Modbus
The Kipp & Zonen SMP10x is a digital smart pyranometer for precise measurement of irradiance in W/m² and for direct integration into modern measurement, test bench and automation systems.
Via the integrated RS-485 Modbus® interface, measurement values can be transmitted digitally and processed directly by data loggers, PLC, SCADA or DAQ systems.
The SMP10x is therefore particularly suitable for automated solar simulation systems, test benches and testing laboratories where irradiance measurements need to be continuously recorded and processed digitally.

The digital interface makes it particularly easy to integrate multiple sensors and perform centralized measurement data acquisition.
The SMP10x measures irradiance and provides the measurement value digitally via RS-485 Modbus®.
When used digitally, this eliminates the need for the higher-level measurement system to perform conventional evaluation of the very small thermopile mV signal.
