Kipp & Zonen CMP10x – Analog Precision Pyranometer
The Kipp & Zonen CMP10x is an analog precision pyranometer for reliable measurement of broadband irradiance in W/m².
The CMP10x operates without a separate power supply and directly generates a low-level analog mV signal. This makes it particularly suitable for traditional measurement chains, data loggers, DAQ systems, test benches and solar simulation systems.
As an ISO 9060:2018 Spectrally Flat Class A pyranometer, the CMP10x combines high measurement accuracy with excellent long-term stability and low maintenance requirements.

The CMP10x does not require its own power supply. The thermopile directly generates a voltage signal proportional to the irradiance.
The CMP10x is suitable for precise irradiance measurements in industrial and scientific testing environments.
Typical applications include:
- Solar simulation systems
- Irradiation test benches
- Environmental test laboratories
- Automotive testing
- Component testing
- Material testing
- Research & Development
- Reference measurements
- Comparative measurements
- Homogeneity measurements
Particularly in existing measurement systems with analog data acquisition, the CMP10x enables simple integration.
The CMP10x enables precise measurement of the irradiance reaching the test specimen in W/m².
Typical measurement tasks include:
- Measuring irradiance
- Measuring artificial solar radiation
- Measuring solar radiation
- Characterizing solar simulators
- Verifying test conditions
- Recording irradiance distribution
- Performing reference measurements
- Determining homogeneity
Direct measurement at the test plane makes it possible to verify the actual irradiance conditions present at the test specimen.
The CMP10x is particularly suitable for characterizing solar simulation systems and irradiation test benches.
Lamp ageing, reflectors, filters, distances and other optical components influence the actual irradiance present across the test area.
By performing grid measurements with the CMP10x, irradiance can be recorded at different positions and the homogeneity of the test area can be determined.
Typical applications include complete vehicles, vehicle components, plastics, paints, displays, electronics and material samples.
Thanks to its analog output, the CMP10x can be easily integrated into existing measurement chains.
Possible components include:
- CMP10x pyranometer
- Measuring amplifier
- Data logger
- DAQ systems
- Test bench control systems
- Evaluation software
- Automated measurement systems
For applications requiring higher voltage levels or 4–20 mA signals, additional signal converters can be used.
BF Engineering supports integration into solar simulation systems, test benches and customized measurement systems.
In addition to measurement technology integration, BF Engineering can also perform measurements, homogeneity testing and calibration of solar simulation systems and irradiation test benches on request.
