BF UV Coverall
The BFE UV protection system provides reliable protection against UV radiation when solar simulation systems are in operation, enabling safe working during repeated use.

For the UV protective equipment, a temperature range of −40 °C to +60 °C is specified elsewhere. Therefore, the specific operating conditions of the respective product must be taken into account.
The BFE UV protective clothing is designed for use in environments where personnel are exposed to active artificial solar radiation, particularly during solar simulation and testing.

The UV components of the radiation can cause skin damage. Therefore, the operating instructions recommend using suitable UV protection when exposed to the simulated sunlight and point out that unprotected areas of skin should be avoided within the radiation field when the equipment is switched on.
The protective clothing is particularly relevant for test environments in which UV radiation can reach the skin and cause burns or other skin damage.
The UV coverall is worn over existing outer clothing or directly over underwear. Hats, vests, jackets and similar garments should be removed before putting on the protective clothing.
The zipper of the coverall must be fully closed during use. The supplied belt can be used to improve comfort and fit.
The protective system consists of:
- UV coverall
- UV head protection mask
- UV protective gloves
- UV safety glasses
The gloves are worn underneath the coverall and pulled up to just below the elbow joint.
When using the protective head mask, ensure that it is correctly fitted. The collar of the protective head mask is tucked underneath the coverall; the UV protective goggles are worn over the protective head mask.
The UV protective clothing must be used exclusively in accordance with the operating conditions described in the operating instructions.
When the solar simulation system is switched on, it is not permitted to remain in the area without suitable UV protective equipment. The operating instructions expressly warn of the risk of skin and eye damage caused by the radiation.
Particularly important:
- No unprotected areas of skin in the radiation field
- Use UV protective clothing only when it is in perfect condition
- Do not continue to use damaged protective textiles under UV exposure
- Regularly inspect the zipper and seams of the coverall
- Do not apply sunscreen or other skin protection products directly to the skin immediately before putting on the clothing
- Keep the textiles away from solvent vapors and aggressive influences
- The UV protective gloves are suitable only for light work
- The UV protective gloves must not be used to pick up broken glass
Sunscreen, sun blockers and other skin protection products may affect the structure of the fabric, reduce breathability and, according to the operating instructions, invalidate the UV protection. Textiles that have come into contact with such products should no longer be used under solar simulation systems.
The UV protective clothing is not designed for heavy or very heavy work under UV exposure.
The UV protective clothing must be inspected regularly before and after each use. Particular attention should be paid to holes, cuts, abrasion marks and other damage. The UV coverall should also be checked for proper functioning of the zipper and the condition of the seams. Damaged protective clothing must not be used under an active solar simulation system.
Care is straightforward and designed for regular use:
- Machine wash at 30 °C
- No industrial laundering
- Do not use bleaching detergents
- Do not use fabric softener
- Turn the coverall inside out before washing
- Close zippers before washing
- Wash textiles separately from other laundry
- Hang to dry
- Do not store wet for extended periods
- The coverall can be tumble-dried
- Do not iron directly over printed areas of the coverall
According to the operating instructions, the UV protection is not washed out by laundering. The UV coverall is made of 100% polyester. The protective head mask and gloves are made of 80% polyamide and 20% elastane and should preferably not be regularly tumble-dried.
For storage, the garments should be hung on the supplied clothes hanger and then stored in the designated garment bag. This is intended to protect the textiles from additional contamination.
