Professional High-Performance HMI Light Source for Solar Simulation and Industrial Test Systems
The OSRAM HMI 2500 W/SE XS is a high-performance metal halide short-arc lamp designed for demanding industrial lighting, irradiation and solar simulation systems.
With a rated power of 2,500 W, a luminous flux of approximately 240,000 lm and a color temperature of approx. 6,000 K, it combines very high light and irradiation performance with a daylight-like light characteristic.
A key advantage of HMI technology is its broadband emission spectrum. OSRAM explicitly specifies the HMI 2500 W/SE XS as a light source with a broad spectrum suitable for Solar Simulation.
The lamp is therefore particularly suitable for solar simulation, automotive testing, material and ageing testing, environmental testing and industrial irradiation systems.

The high power density, combined with suitable optics, enables high irradiance levels while maintaining precise light guidance.
Due to its broadband spectrum, the OSRAM HMI 2500 W/SE XS is particularly suitable for Solar Simulation and industrial solar simulation. OSRAM explicitly specifies this suitability in its product information.
In combination with a coordinated reflector and filter glass system, BF Engineering can adapt the spectral distribution and irradiation characteristics to the respective application.
Parameters such as irradiance, spectrum, homogeneity, test area and distance to the test specimen can be taken into account when designing the complete system.
