Proven 2,000 W High-Performance Light Source for Solar Simulation and Material Testing

The OSRAM POWERSTAR HQI-TS 2000 W/D/S is a proven high-performance metal halide lamp with quartz technology that has been used for many years in demanding industrial irradiation and testing systems.

The POWERSTAR HQI product line originally comes from OSRAM. Following the spin-off of the traditional lamp business, the HQI-TS 2000 W/D/S is now marketed by LEDVANCE. LEDVANCE is a license partner of the OSRAM brand for lamps. The established OSRAM technology and product designation therefore remain closely associated with this light source.

With a rated power of 2,000 W, luminous flux of 210,000 lm and a color temperature of 6,100 K, the HQI-TS 2000 W/D/S delivers very high light and irradiation performance in a compact design.

The manufacturer explicitly lists “Simulation of the sun, material testing” as an application area. The lamp is therefore ideally suited as a light source for solar simulation, material testing, ageing tests and industrial irradiation systems.

The compact light source allows the radiation to be precisely directed using suitable reflector and filter systems and adapted for different industrial applications.

The OSRAM POWERSTAR HQI-TS 2000 W/D/S is particularly suitable for industrial applications in the fields of solar simulation and material testing. These applications are explicitly specified by the manufacturer for this lamp.

With a color temperature of approximately 6,100 K and its high irradiation performance, it provides a powerful basis for customized solar simulation systems.

For professional solar simulation, however, the light source alone is not the only decisive factor. The resulting spectrum and irradiance on the test surface are determined by the interaction of the HQI burner, reflector, filter glass, distance and optical geometry.
